This week is Kuwait week for GERI!
First stop📍: A meeting with Kuwait Oil Company and Shell to continue ongoing conversations and refine the outlines of a potential field demonstration of our Steam & Flue Gas Co-Injection technology.
Kuwait, with the world’s highest oil production per capita, is at a pivotal stage in balancing its dual mandate of sustaining long-term oil production while advancing toward its national climate commitments.
With Kuwait Oil Company’s (KOC) target of achieving Net-Zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2050, and Kuwait’s broader ambition of net-zero by 2060, the country’s oil sector faces the challenge of enhancing heavy oil recovery while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity.
GERI’s patented Direct Contact Steam Generation (DCSG) technology offers Kuwait a practical pathway to meet these strategic challenges. By co-injecting steam and flue gases directly into the reservoir, DCSG simultaneously improves heavy oil recovery and reduces atmospheric emissions, while also conserving water💧
We appreciate the constructive engagement from KOC and Shell and look forward to advancing this collaboration as we explore a potential field demonstration that aligns innovation, performance, and sustainability.
