We’re pleased to share that we’ve further strengthened our Board of Directors with the addition of Emmanuel Kasseris, PhD, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology mechanical engineer with deep expertise in combustion and energy systems.
A widely-cited researcher and holder of several patents relating to steam generation, combustion engines and renewable power generation, Emmanuel is currently CEO of Emvolon, a Woburn, MA-based start-up using internal combustion engines to turn methane emissions into renewable fuels and chemicals. Prior to his current role, Emmanuel worked for the MIT Energy Initiative on the techno-economic assessment of carbon mitigation pathways, as well as for Chevron and ConocoPhillips on new technology development projects relating to steam generation in heavy-oil.
Additionally, Dr. Kasseris has worked extensively as an energy systems strategic advisor for senior management at Chevron and MIT in both transportation and power generation. His work has been cited by the US Department of Energy, US Environmental Protection Agency and National Academy of Sciences. It has also been used in expert testimonies to the US Senate and House of Representatives as well as in DOE’s fueleconomy.gov website.
This appointment is a testament to GERI’s commitment to innovation and technical excellence in heavy oil recovery and emissions mitigation.
